Datera Achieves Certification for Red Hat’s OpenStack™ Platform
New partnership enables OpenStack users the opportunity to radically simplify managing data at scale with a software defined platform that is fully automated.
Leading Software Defined Storage Platform Certified for Red Hat OpenStack Platform
SANTA CLARA, CA- June 25, 2020 Datera, the global leader in Autonomous Enterprise Software-Defined Block and Object Storage has collaborated with Red Hat to achieve Red Hat OpenStack Certification for the Datera Cinder driver with both Red Hat OpenStack Platform 13 and Red Hat OpenStack Platform 16.
“Large enterprises around the world are using Datera to automate, optimize, and modernize their storage infrastructures for bare metal, virtual machine, and container workloads,” said Narasimha Valiveti, Chief Product Officer, Datera. “With Redhat Certification, Datera and Openstack customers will harness Datera’s autonomous software-defined storage for their enterprise cloud environments to radically simplify management of storage at scale and significantly reducing infrastructure costs.”
“Enterprises are looking for better outcomes from their data infrastructure investments. They need it to be more agile, more cost effective and enable the ability to free their skilled resources, currently trapped in maintaining complex storage environments,” said Flavio Santoni, President, Datera. “From a static to a dynamic data infrastructure paradigm, Datera was architected for the hybrid cloud to realize an API driven dynamic data infrastructure, where data autonomously moves across different media classes and locations based on application requirements, with the goal to constantly optimize for business velocity, performance and cost. This is in sharp contrast with today’s static data infrastructures built on rigid enterprise storage solutions that require significant resources to plan, evaluate, procure and constant management to keep going.”
Datera innovation is built around automation, performance, ability to concurrently manage multiple classes of servers and media technologies, with deep insights.
Through APIs, customers can define SLAs to meet application requirements. With that, the software automatically composes, drives and changes “on the fly” the allocation of data in the storage infrastructure across multiple classes of media technologies, whether that current or future ones. These capabilities enable customers the ability to maximize performance and cost at all times, and to take rapid advantage of new technologies. Combine all of this with deep insights, and customers have all the data points available to make better decisions and rapidly adapt as situations and requirements change.
The Datera platform, coupled with RedHat’s OpenStack is designed to exceed the scale-out storage needs of Global 2000 enterprises who are looking to eliminate the reliance on traditional enterprise arrays, and deploy an agile data infrastructure to power their virtual machine-based applications, and adopt cloud-native technologies like containers with Kubernetes orchestration, to transition to a modern software-defined data center. Together, OpenStack and Datera enable our customers to build on-premise private clouds, flexibly, and at scale.
