As the end of the year approaches, let me reflect with some pride on what we have achieved at Datera so far and provide some perspective on the path forward.

Our most recently reported revenue growth showed us up 240% in the first half of this year alone, fueled by customer growth of more than 133% during that same period.

We’ve established partnerships with cloud-native ecosystem and container leaders Docker, Rancher and Kubernetes, flash memory powerhouses Intel and Samsung, and server-based infrastructure leaders HPE, Fujitsu, Cisco and Dell. We further expect to announce an expanded and stronger ecosystem of go-to-market partners as we start the new year.

We’ve grown the business with the guidance and backing of tier one VC firm Khosla Ventures, strategic investor Samsung Ventures and industry icons Andy Bechtolsheim of Sun Microsystems and Pradeep Sindhu of Juniper Networks. We’ve built a category-defining product, and our growth as the true software-driven data services platform is now tracking the adoption of “cloud” in the enterprise. We are poised to become the data foundation for the software-defined data center, bringing game-changing technology to some of the most exciting and demanding projects at market-leading companies worldwide.

I’ve been reflecting on how far we’ve come since we founded the company and first brought our platform to market in 2016, envisioning our next big phase of growth and thinking through what it will take to reach our full potential. It’s become clear to me that bringing in additional leadership talent with a proven track record and IT industry DNA will best position us to capitalize on the opportunity we have to take Datera to the next level and bring value to an expanded set of enterprises worldwide.

Marc Fleischmann & Guy Churchward Interview at The Cube

It is in this spirit that I am excited to announce that Guy Churchward has agreed to step into the role of CEO. I feel that he will be key to leading the company’s market expansion while freeing me up to focus more on building strategic relationships, driving our vision, and further refining our technical foundation.

I am incredibly proud of our accomplishments to date and believe that we have the right market, right solution, and right opportunity in front of us and I’m excited about Datera’s future. Until we meet again, happiest of holidays and new years to all!
